Now, Ruy want to participate in the 2nd Pan-American tournament tennis in Special Olympics, which will be held in Mexico between the 17th and August 24th. For that, you need a sponsor to pay the passage to Mexico, something around £ 4000.
Ruy began playing tennis at age 13, influenced by his older brother. At 17 he began lessons with teachers and began participating in tournaments throughout the country. Tennis is one of several activities that Ruy practice to assist their development. "People with autism need to live life as normally as possible, the more it is included in society, the better," says psychologist Vera Lucia Gomes de Campos, Ruy that came 15 years ago.
The mother of Ruy, Maiolino Izilina Chaves, always insisted that his son would take a normal life. "There are many mothers who hide their children at home. I never did that, "he says.
